Dr. Alan Horwitz is a professor of mathematics at the Brandywine campus of Penn State University. He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Temple University. His teaching experience includes undergraduate courses in calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. Dr. Horwitz is a member of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America, and has served as a referee for several mathematics journals. He is also currently an editor for the Journal of Mathematical Inequalities. Dr. Horwitz has published 35 papers in refereed mathematics journals. His areas of research include means, ratio vectors of polynomials with all real zeroes, and ellipses inscribed in, and circumscribed about, convex quadrilaterals.
