There are two instances of \left  (that is \left followed by a space)  that
should be \left. (\left followed by a dot) in my opinion.  These are easily
searched for - both occur in the solution to the problem.

The fix is very easy, replace both \left  (see that invisible space) with
\left. (\left followed by a period.)

Latex on our server chokes on the file because of this issue when producing
hardcopy, thus making it difficult for students to print a hardcopy of any
problem set including this problem.   (This is why I categorize the severity as
"major.")
