I suspect it is trying to connect to the mail application — at the university
of Rochester and that this is either 
no longer using valid certificates or it has a chain of certificates.  Seems to
me we ran into this before.  I’ll
try to check out the details before I suggest any changes in the github repo. 
It’s probably something we 
need to be aware of which is why I sent it to you before I checked it out. I
probably won’t have a chance to
do that until this weekend or early next week.

Its not clear this should be changed.  Which server is it trying to connect to?
 The XMLRPC stuff was to allow servers to run self signed certs.  Is this also
trying to connect to localhost via ssl?
