Oh my! The code for this problem is very complicated, it has so many parts! I
tried working this problem; it worked for me so I can't tell what might have
gone wrong without more specific information. If your students have trouble
with it again please send me a screenshot showing which questions they
answered and what answers they typed in to trigger the error. That would
narrow it down a lot. Also it would help to know what seed the problem was
using when it made the error. Your students can't see the seed but you can see
their seeds by looking at the "Classlist Editor", find the student, click his
or her "Assigned sets", then click the problem set that contains the buggy
problem, then look at its seed. The seed controls the randomized values so it
helps to know what it was when the error came up.
This problem was updated about six months ago so possibly you are using an
older buggy version. (I noticed a small typo when I read the problem so I'll
fix that now). You can obtain the current version of the problem here

https://github.com/openwebwork/webwork-open-problem-library/blob/master/OpenProblemLibrary/METU-NCC/Diff_Eq/pde-heat2.pg

or, if you have access to your webwork server, you should be able to update
your your entire problem library, pulling in all the bug fixes, by executing
the command

git pull

from the directory that contains the problem library. For example in my server
the problem library is in this directory
/opt/webwork/webwork2/libraries/webwork-open-problem-library/OpenProblemLibrary
so to update it I would cd to that directory then run git pull.
I'll leave this bug report open for a while to see if anything else comes up.
If you have any more information you an record it here. This is bug report
#4367.
