What system are you using.  I"m having trouble getting it to work on Ubuntu
because Ubuntu uses a different SSL backend.  (Do have a "(certificate
verify failed)" in your error message or is it missing.  If its there then
the ssl is done using ssleay, which I havent' figured out yet.).
