           Summary: Library browser
           Product: WeBWorK 2
           Version: 2.10
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P5
         Component: CG: SetMaker
        AssignedTo: jj at asu.edu
        ReportedBy: ljensen at tmcc.edu
        Web browser ---
           version:

When selecting a Subject in the Library Browser ("Algebra" for example), in
previous webwork versions the total number of problems under the selected
subject and the submenu, i.e. the "Chapter" menu, would dynamically update in
the browser. Similarly, then a Chapter is selected, the total number of
problems in the selected chapter and the submenu, i.e. the "section" menu,
would dynamically update.

This behavior no longer happens on our production version of Webwork after we
updated to wwk 2.10. I now have to click the "View problems" button before the
total number of problems available and the "Chapter" menu are updated. And when
I select a chapter, I have to click "View problems" again before the "Section"
menu updates, and it takes much longer than it should to update the menus after
clicking the "View Problems" button.

Strangely enough, my webwork test server, which I updated to 2.10 does not have
the above issue, it behaves as expected and updates dynamically as before.

The production server runs an older version of the operating system than the
test server, otherwise there isn't any real difference in the way the two
servers are configured.

The production server runs Ubuntu v.10.04 (Lucid Lynx) with Perl 5.10.1 and
Apache 2.2.14.

The test server runs the current Debian stable (wheezie) with Perl 5.14.2 and
Apache 2.2.22

Lars.
