[ww-devel] Proctored quiz submission by instructor

Hi Clarence,
I haven't dealt with this in a while, but my memory is that it's probably
best classified as a bug. My memory is that if an test is re-entered and
submitted it resolves the set type issue, which is a work-around.
That said, I think the question of how to deal with this case has some
subtlety. If a student is taking a proctored test and the proctor does
not authorize grading because the student violated the testing protocol,
it's not as obvious that the desired default behavior would be for the
test to revert to a practice test as if it had been submitted. In that
case I think there should in that case be some clear flag that the test is
not valid; leaving it as a proctored test accomplishes that. It is then
using that characteristic for a new purpose, however, which is not
desirable. That said, I'm not thinking of a good way to distinguish
between tests that go overtime because they aren't submitted and which
should be considered invalid. Ideally, the mechanism should require
essentially no intervention from the proctor. (We have undergraduate
students proctoring tests, and I want to minimize the degree to which they
have to exercise explicit authority over test-takers.)
Best,
Gavin
