Mei Qin Chen is a math professor at The Citadel, specializing in matrix theory and numerical methods in linear algebra and optimization. She received her BS in computational mathematics from Eastern Illinois University in 1983 and her MS in applied mathematics and Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1985 and 1989, respectively.
