WeBWorK 2.3 contains an Apache authen handler called Apache::AuthenWeBWorK. It allows you to password-protect a directory or location with accounts from a WeBWorK course.

Requirements

WeBWorK 2.3.0 or later.

Usage

Configuration looks like this.

<Location /some_protected_location>
 AuthName "My Protected Location"
 AuthType Basic
 PerlAuthenHandler Apache::AuthenWeBWorK
 PerlSetVar authen_webwork_root /path/to/webwork2
 PerlSetVar authen_webwork_course some_course_id
 require valid-user
</Location>

Limitations

You can only authenticate against a single course per location.
