Hardcopy Design

This is the design page for the generate hardcopy page in WeBWorK, including design decisions relating to hardcopies themselves.

Current Design Questions

1. showHints Show hints if the "showHints" checkbox is checked AND if
   1. the user is the instructor or
   2. the user is a student and it is after the answer date.
2. showSolutions Show solutions if the "showSolutions" checkbox is checked AND if
   1. the user is the instructor or
   2. the user is a student and it is after the answer date.
3. filePaths What should be the behavior of show paths? (This is affects Problem Page Design.) Currently if you are acting as an effective user (target user), paths are only shown if they should be shown to that user. The issue is that if an instructor is looking at a problem (on the problem page) as a student, they want the path of the problem for troubleshooting. On the other hand, if an instructor prints out a hardcopy as a student, they may not want the paths on the hardcopy in case they give that to the student.
4. showAnswers Default status of "Show Student Answers". Currently this is set to on, but there is a request that it be changed to off. The question is if there are more user stories where you want show student answers, than there are where you do not want show student answers.
5. showSections In compound/sequential problems which sections should one allow to be printed in hard copy and for whom? This question has much in problem with the question of when to show hints.
