My name is Ms. Mishelle Dean. As a child I loved playing school and in most cases I was the teacher. My first formal job in teaching was as an undergraduate TA at The University of North Carolina. The Computer Science Department selected me as a student teacher for the programming courses.

Since my father required that I meet my own personal expenses, transportation, etc.., I also accepted another part-time student job as a Math Tutor at the University. Working part-time and going to school full-time, I graduated Magna Cum-Laude in my core subjects, which were primarily programming courses.

For some reason, which seemed abnormal at the time, I got a "kick" out of programming a computer to do exactly what I told it to do. After graduating, I was hired as an Electronic Data Processing Systems Operator. When I realized that the company I worked for was falling behind technology, I applied to teach at ECPI University. My reasoning behind such a move was that teaching technology would prevent being left behind as technology surged ahead.

For the last 14 years, I have served students at ECPI University. During this period of time, I completed a Masters Degree at North Carolina State University. I took advantage of material presented to me by taking certification exams after studying a subject, while the material was "alive" in my mind. The result has been 7+ certifications.

Aside from studying, I do enjoy a personal and spiritual life. My students are aware of my love for little dogs, especially my male and female Chihuahuas. One of my students will not let me forget my Chihuahua impersonation.
