Is there a way to change the image size for the png's that are rendered in a problem? I could probably add a height attribute to the css class "img" but then it would set the height for the other images as well.

This can be done by changing the arguments used by dvipng for image creation. In ww 2, they are in in Constants.pm. The exact syntax depends on the version of dvipng you are using, but samples are given for all versions.
