I wanted to send email to the entire class. I select "Send mail to all students". For some reason, out of a class of 200, WeBWork claimed to be sending mail to only 8. I tried various tricks, restarting, making sure all students were listed, etc. Finally, after filling 8 peoples mailboxes, I tried "Selecting Students" and selected everyone. That seemed to work.

I am responding to my own message.

My email problem resulted from importing a class list with a blank for each student's status. WeBWork lists the students as "enrolled", but treats them as if they dropped the course. When instructed WeBWork to send mail to all students, it sent mail only to students who were, it its opinion, enrolled.

So the moral is, make sure that the import files have a "C" in the status field.
