| Unfortunately there is no pod (plain old documentation) documentation
for this file. The best I can do is point you to the original file:

The macros in this file, except possibly for the last two, are in
desparate need of revision. They were written very early in a Fortan or
Basic style and, while they work for the problems using them, they are
hard to decipher.
Revising this file and the problems that depend on it would be a great project for someone. :-)
