** Using WeBWorK **

This is a request for OPL problem data from your institution.  In the newly released WeBWorK 2.12 the Library Browser optionally displays local and global data about problems, specifically the number of individuals who have attempted the problem, the average number of attempts on the problem and the average status earned on the problem.  The purpose is to provide instructors with useful information when selecting problems.  Local data represents usage at your institution and global data represents the sum of all local data contributions.  We hope you will contribute data from your institution to our global data repository.  Currently we have data on approximately 23,000 of the 30,000 problems in the OPL. This is a good start, but we need more data. 

The wiki page http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/OPL_Problem_Statistics gives detailed information on this project. In particular the data we are asking you to contribute consists only of gross usage and averages.  No individual data, much less any "individually identifiable" data is being requested.  Under the guidelines published by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, this research is not research involving human subjects, and 45 CFR part 46 does not apply.  Please look at  http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/OPL_Problem_Statistics#IRB_.28Institutional_Review_Board.29_considerations for more information on this topic.If you are not the individual at your institution who maintains your WeBWorK server, please forward this request to your local WeBWorK administrator.
