** Using WeBWorK **

In order for per-homework grade passback to work, WeBWorK needs an assignment specific lis_result_sourcedid which it will only get when a student uses the homework specific LTI link the first time. Once that value is in the database - the student can access the assignment using alternative methods. Thus, using $LTIGradeMode = "homework"; together with alternative authentication methods will work if students are told to use the per-assignment link at least once.
