How do I set the default mode for a single problem to be typeset? Thanks for the help.

While viewing the problem, there is a row of radio buttons near the bottom of the page. Choose the radio button labeled "typeset" and then press the submit answer button. The problem will be rendered using the "typeset" mode.

Your browser will stay in "typeset" mode when viewing other problems. The displayMode is "attached" to the browser state rather than to the problem. The browser displayMode state is set on the welcome page and then modified by the user, the individual problems can't automatically reset the displayMode, which I think is what you are requesting.
