Technical : Unicode U+2300 - U+23FF (8960-9215) do not render properly on Solaris 2.8 or Linux Red Hat 7.3 and Netscape or Opera or Mozzila.

characters used in rendering of matrixes like "left angle bracket" etc. do not render on any Unix system. On any Microsoft OS it renders well. check my test page please : http://www.math.ucalgary.ca/~cerny/test.html

I found some material about it at http://www.hclrss.demon.co.uk/demos/symbol.html#s20A0 but this only tells me it is not going to work !!! help - I have my student mahcines running Linux and Netscape

Dear Jan,

For Solaris 2.8, one should download Netscape 6.2.2 from Sun's download site, which is accessible from Sun's home page at www.sun.com.

The symbols do display correctly. But there may be extra space between the lines so that there are vertical gaps between the symbols.

Sincerely,

Bill Wheeler, Indiana University

Dear Bill, I installed in first stage Netscape 6.2.3 for Windows XP . To my disbelieve it does NOT render the symbols properly. Where previous versions of Netscape rendered it properly. Will anyway try now Solaris and Linux to see...... CHeers Jan
