The previous version of the page indicated that these functions
* fact(n) (another name for n!) * sgn(n) The sign function, either -1 (if n < 0), 0 (if n=0), or 1 (if n>0) * step(x) The step function (0 if x < 0, 1 if x is greater than or equal to 0.
are not always available (i.e. not enabled by default.) How true is that?
They seemed to me to be availble in the questions I tested and they are listed as "standard" in the macro database. Feel free to revert if I'm wrong. --Jason 14:36, 29 October 2009 (EDT)
Maybe they are ok -- I was taking my cue from the discussion on the forum:
http://webwork.maa.org/moodle/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=6327
which seems to indicate that those functions won't work if you are using MathObjects -- I (still) haven't done direct tests.
