I think there is a problem with the problem identified in the subject line. It is from the set setAlgebra05RationalExpressions.

It is a matching problem -- match this complicated expression with its equivalent simplified form from the list below. In some cases the correct simplified form doesn't seem to be offered.

I don't understand the system well enough yet to say for sure if the error is in the problem or in my use of it, but I'd like to understand the difficulty in either case.

If you would like to log in to my working WeBWorK site (http://pine.ds.psu.edu/webwork/Math21DS) as practice1 you can find an example of the difficulty in problem set setSection41. In problem #1 I believe option C. should be (x-6)/(x-1) to match part 2.

I created the problem set by creating a *.def file as follows:

setNumber=setSection41

openDate = 07/06/04, 0600

dueDate = 07/13/04 at 10:00pm

answerDate = 07/15/04 at 10:00pm

paperHeaderFile = paperSetHeader.pg

screenHeaderFile = screenSetHeader.pg

problemList =

setSection41/srw1_4_1.pg, 1

Hi Bud,

Can you please post the seed that causes this error? If you hit "show editor", the seed will be listed near the top of the page.

I see something in the problem that may be causing the error, but having the seed would make it a lot easier to debug.

Thanks Bud. The problem is corrected in the CVS. You have to replace the first line below by the second.
