In WeBWorK 2.1 the user name is not case sensitive at log in, but it is when users try to generate hardcopies.

I understand the second part with case sensitive file names under unix, but I don't know where the "insensitiviy" comes from at log in and if it is possible to turn it off.

Hi,

I just tested loging in on a cvs copy of webwork and it was case-sensitive, which it is the way it is supposed to be. It seems this bug was fixed somewhere along the line. I think it had to do with the structure of the mysql database, so just upgrading webwork may not help - you would also have to adjust the databases.

There was a workaround, but it caused database access to slow down considerably in large classes.

John
