I don't know the answer to your question. However, if you go to the forum index page (http://wwrk.maa.org/moodle/mod/forum/index.php?id=3) and enter "placement" in the Search forums box, it will bring up some results on placement and other topics. On the first page of search results you will see comments from Michigan, WPI, Calgary, Texas tech, etc. I didn't look beyond the first page.
