Attempting to download the latest Live DVD.
http://devel.webwork.rochester.edu/ww-downloads/WW2.4_Ubuntu10.04_64bit_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso
doesn't seem to work. Is there a more recent version or a new location?

Thanks-
Fuzzy

We are checking on the situation with devel.webwork.rochester.edu. Also we will try to upload the iso's to an alternate location.

Hi,

devel.webwork.rochester.edu is back on line and WW2.4_Ubuntu10.04_64bit_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso can be downloaded.

We will also put the iso files on an alternate site as a backup. I'll modify the download instructions giving both sites when this the alternate site is ready.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here are the locations from which you can download the required files.

Download the md5 check sum and .iso file from either of the sites below. Download WW2.4_Ubuntu10.04_64bit_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso.md5 and WW2.4_Ubuntu10.04_64bit_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso (it is a 1.18 GB file)
Rochester

http://hosted2.webwork.rochester.edu/ww-downloads/WW2.4_Ubuntu10.04_64bit_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso
MAA

Thank you!

FWIW- this install appears to have wwadmin as the main user (with the password wwadmin). This is different than the documentation at
http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/Installing_WeBWorK_from_Live_DVD
under Boot your Server.

Thanks-

Hi,

Unfortunately you found some old documentation for an older version of the LiveDVD.

If you go to the main page (http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/Installation_Manual_for_2.4) and then look under http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/Installation_Manual_for_2.4#Installation_Methods_and_Instructions
you will be led to http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/Installing_WeBWorK_from_a_Live_DVD where you will find direction for the current LiveDVD.

I would like to give the 32-bit "Vanilla" version a try. But the md5 sum file at webwork.maa.org/ww-downloads is 2 years older than the .iso file (WW2.4_Ubuntu9.10_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso and WW2.4_Ubuntu9.10_Vanilla_LiveDVD.iso.md5). Is there a correct md5 sum file somewhere so I can check what I downloaded?

Thanks,
- Hy

Hi Hy,

These are the correct files. All the 32 bit version files are about 18 months old but have been moved around so that the dates you see are not the creation dates. I figured that most people would not want the 32 bit version so it has not been updated recently.

You can download the files from MAA or Rochester (see http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/Installing_from_WW2.4_Ubuntu9.10_Vanilla_LiveDVD#Download_the_iso_image). You may find the Rochester server a bit faster.

A new version of the 32 and 64 bit distributions will be released sometime in May after the Ubuntu 11.04 release. I may also decide to base these distributions on the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS release.

Sincerely,

Arnie
