setting the number of attempts on a problem

setting the number of attempts on a problem

I'm hoping that there is an easy way to set the number of attempts on a particular problem. I have some sets of problems that are designated for practice, and for those, I would like to allow unlimited attempts. For those problems that I will be counting toward the students' homework grade, I would like to cap the number of allowed attempts (1 for some, 2 for others, etc.).

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This is pretty easy.  Open the Hmwk Sets Editor, click on the number of problems under the Edit Problems column (or alternative, click on the pencil and then on Edit All Set Data).  Then change the Max attempts setting for the problems you want.

You can also set this in a set definition file, see

Arnie
