Access to helpfiles from a WebWork problem

Access to helpfiles from a WebWork problem

We have recently installed WeBWork on a department server.

When I click a hyperlink to any helpfile on a problem, e.g. the "formulas" link next to where the students enter their answer, I get the following message:

"You don't have permission to access /webwork2_files/helpFiles/ on this server."

We have tested access to these files by setting up urls directly to the helpfiles on our server, and these links seem to work.

However, accessing the files via the link from a problem doesn't seem to work.

Does someone have an idea of what's happening? I must admit I'm not extremely computer savvy!!

Thanks,

I believe this is related to the bug I reported on 24-September-2012 (#2446).

My description, via Deskzilla Lite, had subject line
"possible need to synchronize an update involving multiple files"
and said

It appears a recent change in
        NationalProblemLibrary/macros/FortLewis/AnswerFormatHelp.pl
to use helpLink might require a corresponding revision of
        pg/macros/PGbasicmacros.pl
(svn update in pg/macros reports "At revision 7146.")

The symptom is getting a message
You don't have permission to access /webwork2_files/helpFiles/ on this  server.
after clicking on a help link.

In the near term, I have restored an older version of AnswerFormatHelp.pl

++++  update Oct 18  checksum for file defining helpLink
    md5sum  PGbasicmacros.pl
