student stats

I understand that on the problem sets for student stats a C 0 denotes a student has got the question correct first time a . 0 denotes the student has not attempted the question, but what does a 0 0 denote?

does it denote that a student has looked at a question but not attempted it or does it denote that a student has pressed the submit button with nothing in the answer box.

I only ask as there is a student who claims to attempted some  questions that are marked 0 0 and that have no entries when the show past answer button is pressed.

thanks in advance for setting me straight on this,
Zak

This means that they have looked at the problem, but have attempted it 0 times. This is opposed to (. 0), where they have never even loaded the problem. Also, downloading a hard copy of the whole set counts as looking at the problem, so a student with an entire row of (0 0) has probably downloaded a hard copy.

I would guess that your student thinks (s)he has submitted answers. But all they have done is hit the enter key, which defaults to the Preview Answer button, not the Submit Answer button. So they think they submitted something, but they haven't.
