Students and myself have noticed that Webwork often automatically logs us out in the middle of various tasks.
This is a problem in middle of exams. One student claims she is losing some work when she tried to preview her work and it logs her out in the middle of an exam.
Sincerely,
Chris
Automatically logs out after set time? How extend time period? Students claiming work being lost during exams!?

Hi,
It sounds like you need to set the $sessionKeyTimeout variable to a larger value. This can be set for a single course by the professor using the course configuration menu:
Course Configuration
---> (General Tab, which is the default)
---> Inactivity time before a user is required to login again
The value of this variable is measured in seconds with a default of 1800 seconds (= 30 minutes).
For Gavin LaRose: please let us know if there is something else that might be causing this. Additionally, a rhetorical question: should the wiki documentation be updated to address this?
Best regards,
Paul Pearson
