Is it possible to have images in problems based on .png files? I know the old Begin_Text/End_Test could, but I can't seem to get it to work in PGML.

Sure. You do it the same way you do in BEGIN_TEXT/END_TEXT, except that you surround it by [@ ... @]* instead of \{ ... \}.
