We are locked out of Webwork, any suggestions?

Unfortunately we have been denied access to our webwork course (humboldt-stat109) at HSU.

The error message that pops up is below:

Your authentication failed. Please try again. Please speak with your instructor if you need help.
humboldt-stat109 uses an external authentication system (e.g., Oncourse, CAS, Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, etc.). Please return to system you used and try again.

This happened as a result of a tech with admin privileges trying to configure the Canvas and webwork courses for an LTI connection.

We have made a number of Calls to the MAA support number: 800-516-1048

But they have yet to reply. Do you have any suggestions?

I can tell you the fix, but you're going to need someone with access to the MAA server to implement it.

In course.conf, you need to set

$external_auth=0;

(or comment out the line altogether). This will allow you to log in the old-fashioned way again.
