LTI link to Canvas failure based on Javascript changes?

Greetings,

The previous LTI-Canvas failures we were having were traced to changes in a global javascript of our local LMS coordinator to add permissions for a CTL staff member. Once she reverted back to the previous javascript file, our Webwork to Canvas LTI connections were once again working fine.

On behalf of our local LMS coordinator, I am asking the forum if this makes sense?
She has doubts that the changed Javascript file would have been the cause of the issue as (in her words) the LTI application interacts with Canvas via API and XML (server side), while the Javascript file is loaded at the browser level (client side)

We will return to testing the LTI on Monday morning to see if we can reproduce and isolate the error.

Any feedback on this is most appreciated!

Tim

Please disregard the previous prompt about Changes in LMS javascript triggering a change in LTI function.

Apparently, last Thursday afternoon (Aug 15th, '19), there was another source that caused the LTI to fail. The changes on the techs LMS javascript coincided with that time window.

Everything in regard to the LTI working now.
We are just puzzled as to why the system broke down last Thursday?
