LTI Integration to Canvas

LTI Integration to Canvas

We currently run our own WebWork server in house. We would like to integrate WebWork with our Canvas (LMS System) using LTI. Our security department said that WebWork is not currently certified for LTI Integration to Canvas. They require that any software that integrates with Canvas is certified using LTI Advantage (1.3). I was wondering if the hosted version of WebWork provides this additional security that our security department is requiring? Has anyone else run into this situation? Any guidance integrating WebWork to Canvas using LTI Advanced would be appreciated. Thank you.

The current version of WW (2.15) and the soon-to-come 2.16 do not have this. But there is an issue registered:

https://github.com/openwebwork/webwork2/issues/1222

and it might happen in 2.17 or later.

One quick aside. It is one thing for IT management to object to integrating WeBWorK with Canvas because of security concerns when the WeBWorK hosting is /external/. But when you have your own WeBWorK server under the control of your institution, do the same concerns still exist? Have the people objecting considered that you have an in-house WeBWorK server you are trying to connect to Canvas?
