Does anybody know if it is possible to set problem set deadlines for all students who are associated to a particular section? If this is not possible, is there a way around this problem other than creating a new course for each section?
Any help is much appreciated,

There is no easy way to do this. You can do this one student at a time but obviously this is not something you want to do for a large section.
This is a situation where it is best to create separate courses for each section. If you do this and want to assign the same problems for each separate course (section), first set up the problem set for one course, export the set which creates a set definition file (e.g. set3.def), move the set definition file to the templates directory of the new course using the file manager and then import the set definition file.

Hi,
Another approach is to filter the students being viewed in the Instructor Tools page (by clicking "display section X" and "change display settings"), select all of those students, select the set to change, and then click "Edit one set for users." This should allow you to set set-specific information for all of the users in that section simultaneously.
