Note the OVA was built on VMware Workstation 17 Pro using default settings (except the maxVirtualHardwareVersion was set to 13 so it will run on older versions of VMware). Googling "OVA built on Workstation Pro fails on VMWARE ESXi / VCenter 7.x" talks about a bunch of things including incompatibilities e.g. "When you created the vms did you set the compatibility to esxi or leave the default workstation pro selection. There are incompatibilities depending on the vm options selected." Not sure how valid this is, but as stated above, the OVA was built using the default settings.
