Thank you for your reply. Thiis is a follow up on the message I posted at the WebWork discussion board.
Basicly, we checked the permissions of all files and the group has the
correct permissions everywhere, and www is part of the group. The same
problem occured today, and this time The system dministrator was able
to look at it. A restart of the apache server
fixed the problem. The log file for the server revealed about 10 www
users with log times around the time the problem occured (2:00 am
today) who were not loged out authomatically. The error log showed
quite a few attempted Win NT hacks, which according to Risa (the sys.
person) is not unusual And on Wednesday, the problem dissapeared
without any assistance, so it might have been that the system reset
some variables automaticaly and returned to the correct setup.
I am hoping that you may have a useful piece of advice on trouble
shooting this problem. Is is possible for the webserver to go down when
a sizable number (10-20) of users quit the system without logging off?
We are quite puzzled what may cause this problem.
Thank you for your help with all this.
