Gretchen Wilke Whipple is a math professor at Warren Wilson College.

Upon receiving her BA in English and Math at Manhattanville College, in Purchase, NY, she began a teaching career. After teaching high school for 7 years, she earned a master's degree in mathematics from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. From Richmond she went to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to pursue her doctorate.

Dr. Whipple has been at Warren Wilson College since 2001 and is presently the Chair of the Math Department there.
