Hi All,

Is it possible to get the problem sets for the UR MTH 141 course? If so, how? We are using Stewart's Calculus, Concepts and Contexts, 2nd. Ed. It looks like these problem sets are based on this book. Is that so? Any information would be appreciated. Bruno

Hi,

Actually the current text for MTH 141 is Calculus - Early Transcendentals (Single Variable) by James Stewart, 4-th edition. However, in the past we have used the Concepts and Contexts edition and the problem sets are suitable for use with either text. You might also want to look at the problem sets for MTH 161 which is the "same" course using the same text except that it's taught at a faster pace.

All the problems used in MTH 141 are contained (along with many others) in the "rochester" library of problems which is distributed with WeBWorK. If you want, we can send you copies of the set definition files for MTH 141 which list the problems for each assignment. If you you like the selection of problems in MTH 141 (or in any other particular course), this is an easy way to find 200 or 300 "good" problems from the several thousand problems which current exist in the various libraries.

If you do want the set definition files for MTH 141 (or any other Rochester course), please email me.

Arnie
