Moodle is now beginning to acquire math. editing capabilities besides its interface to WeBWorK. It is now possible to post (extended!) WeBWorK expressions into Moodle discussion groups and they will be automatically rendered into gif images. See the following url: https://webwork2.math.ohio-state.edu/moodle1_2d/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=12&username=guest Note that you can post into that discussion, following the models shown. (Click on the Reply link.) I've donated a slightly hacked version of AlgParser.pm to this Moodle project. Arnie and Mike, I hope you don't mind. Moodle now also has the capability of rendering MathML pasted into forum postings as gif images. See the following url: https://webwork2.math.ohio-state.edu/moodle1_2d/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=7&username=guest You can also paste (well-formed!) MathML into that discussion, again by clicking on the Reply link. Please makes sure that you choose "HTML Format" from the Formatting popup menu before clicking on the "Save Changes" button. Someone is working on a more intuitive GUI interface to this. The following links go to rather complex postings which were pasted into the discussion in this way: https://webwork2.math.ohio-state.edu/moodle1_2d/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=10&username=guest and https://webwork2.math.ohio-state.edu/moodle1_2d/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=11&username=guest There will shortly be a capability of posting TeX into the discussion group.
