What is the wwapachectl conf file for? Is it required for the webwork2 install? I have been restarting apache the standard way. Should I use wwapachectl instead after I make changes to the webwork configuration?

Lars.

Hi Lars,

I think wwapachectl is just a generic start script for apache, modified for the paths and what-have-you for the development environment.  It does some error checking specific to WeBWorK (verifying that there isn't a newer global.conf.dist or database.conf.dist config file for that isn't being used), and looks specifically at the httpd-wwmp.conf file as the config file for apache, but other than that is just a startscript for apache.

So if you're managing your apache config file and maintaining global.conf and database.conf as the development CVS branch evolves it shouldn't matter how you start and stop apache.

Gavin
