I had heard that some work had been done in associating problems in various libraries with textbooks. As a used car salesman trying to convince my colleagues to use WeBWorK I have to convince them that it will do all sorts of wonderful things that may not be ready yet. In particular, someone asked me if there are problems keyed to Tan & al Finite Mathematics but any information along this line would be helpful

One problem we encountered when trying to associate problems to textbooks was with the publishers. Two years ago we contacted one publisher regarding a College Algebra textbook. we tried to code all problems in their textbook (we thought that would benefit them), but they raised copyright problems and the problems being used by classes with textbooks published by their competitors.
