We have been running WW 1.9 on a Mac OS 10.3.? for a year. This summer our technology services decided to upgrade our server to Mac OS 10.4.? So they packed up the WW directories in a tar file, upgraded the server, and unpacked WW.

After adjustig everything back to what it was (we think) and running the webwork_setup script again, WW is not working as it should.

The main issue appears to be that the server cannot find the webwork cgi scripts directory (so it is not possible to log in into a course), but the webwork cgi directory is scriptAliassed in the httpd.conf file correctly.

More surprisingly, if I enable $cgiDebugMode (=1) in webworkConfig.pm then the server will find the wrapper cgi scripts and I can log in.

Once I log in everything looks OK (I mean the old courses that I have), except for the images generated by latex (but this seems to be another issue).

What would be the reason for the server not to find the cgi scripts? Any suggestions as to how could I get everything back to working order (other than doing a fresh install--that will be after this semester)?

Thank you very much

Alberto

I was able to fix the problem with the server finding the cgi-scripts. It had to do with the ScriptAlias and whosts httpd.conf in a Mac server.
