How change time zone default globally? If incorrect is that necessarily a problem?

This forum has a limit to the number of forum postings you can make in a given time period - this is currently set at 10 posting(s) in 1 day

I don't know how to change the timezone for a Webwork server and don't think

I ever did. I just noticed it is set for New York time instead of Chicago time

for me.

Is the necessarily a problem if everyone enters their homework and exam due dates with their timezone specified? (e.g. I enter CST or CDT.)

The only way I can see that this would be a problem is if Webwork changes by CST times to EST (New York) times when displayed.

Funny thing is in multiple years of using Webwork I never had anyone complain and now I'm not sure why?
