There have been three previous conferences this summer on May 24, June 25 and July 11. The rough minutes for those meetings can be found in the shared folder above. (June 25, July 11)
The planning involves creating a structure (loosely based on MAA’s SIGMAA chapters) for guiding continued development of the community supporting WeBWorK software. For now we are concentrating on finalizing the descriptions of the duties for three positions (and their assistants/shadows):
-
President/Director: Temporarily filled by John Travis, assistant: Mike Gage https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x0UiKFFwIllpqfGlwkYygnfohOMsmejkzQzkNgNV5k4/edit
-
Community Organizer/Program manager: Temporarily filled by Danny Glin, assistant George Jennings https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EElqHhsl0IohJ13MmgrN6WadXrW6NzRABOuOXgloncE/edit
-
Secretary-Treasurer: Temporarily filled by Mike Gage, assistant Arnie Pizer https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z9KVJoxX7e-KLWYp2wY2e7wFR5LjsnRpbcPLpen7plo/edit
These are the main supervisory positions for The WeBWorK Project. Other task oriented positions (e.g. Release Manager, Editorial Board Manager, Communications coordinator) and are being fleshed out. (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CxtwgVP2FVczy2SR85InkgTPuXWyQuMCobXJ4JUU-C4/edit#gid=0 )
Any one interested in nominating themselves (or someone else) for those positions should email Mike Gage (gage@math.rochester.edu) and John Travis (travis@mc.edu).
A more detailed agenda will be available in the google docs folder before the conference date.
If you wish to be sent an individual reminder and invitation to attend the web conference email a note to that effect to Mike Gage (gage@math.rochester.edu). You can also indicate any particular points you would like to make (or have made) or activities you are working on or would like to participate in. Add your name to the spread sheet (if it is not already there) and fill in your interests and/or what you would be willing to volunteer for. There is a list of activities which you can view and add to.
There are several pages of background notes I made while preparing for these conferences which are available in the shared folder. A rough summary of the initial issues is here.
