A student of mine noticed that in problems where I use function_cmp_up_to_constant he could put in a large number (4 digits or more) and it would be counted correct. Has anyone else run into this? I am using a problem out of the demo course on integration by parts but it seems to work for any problem using that answer macro.

I tried to generate the same error on course at Rochester and could not. So it must be something local.

Are you using version 1.6? If so, this problem was a bug in that version's PGanswermacros.pl. I believe this has been fixed in version 1.7, which is why you can't reproduce it in Rochester's current courses.

If you don't want to upgrade to version 1.7, you can use version 1.6 with the version 1.5 PGanswermacros.pl, which were shipped with the 1.6 distribution as PGanswermacros.pl.original.
